Meet our new Executive Director – Christina McAnuff

McAnuff_Dec2015_064_HR_SmallThe Olympia Snowe Women’s Leadership Institute has completed its search for a new Executive Director.  From an exciting field of talented individuals, the Board of Directors has selected Christina McAnuff.

Utilizing her incredible mix of experiences, Christina will work to expand the Institute’s programs state-wide and deliver the My Voice program to an 11th grade class that is currently completing the My Values program.  With the addition of 14 new schools in 2016, the program will grow to impact more than 100 10th grade girls, as well as the 50 11th grade girls who will move on to the My Voice program this fall.

Christina most recently served as Director of the Global High School Abroad Programs for the Council on International Educational Exchange (CIEE).  Her work included developing curriculum, managing the training and hiring of staff, overseeing assessment of the program, building networks and managing outreach to participating schools, and operational oversight.

Prior to this, Christina gained experience in various areas of marketing and communications and leadership training.  Her range of skills and her passion for the Institute’s mission make her the ideal choice to lead the Institute through the startup and expansion of its program.  Christina’s volunteer work reflects that passion, having served as a volunteer, mentor and Board Member of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southern Maine, as well as several other youth focused volunteer activities and community boards.

Welcoming Christina to the Institute, Senator Snowe noted that the addition of her considerable skills and experience will help shape the organization as it grows in its early years. “Christina brings an array of skills to the Institute at a critical time in our expansion. Her tremendous  energy combined with her unbridled enthusiasm for our mission makes her a perfect fit as our Executive Director.  I know the staff, program participants, our volunteers, and I are excited about working with Christina as the Institute expands our reach and impact,” commented Snowe.

“I am thrilled to take the reins at the Institute and help shape the program and outcomes for the young women of Maine,” shared Christina. “The mission and the volunteer support this organization has attracted are the reasons this position intrigued me.  I am inspired by the Maine women who want to make sure the next generation reaches their full potential and want to support them in achieving their goals.”
